We are beyond excited to be offering VARIOUS homeschooling options during the 2020/2021 homeschooling year. Our team has put together some out of this world programming so that your family can rest assured that your child will get an interactive educational experience. Our homeschool faculty has a combined teaching experience of over 40 years, in the public school systems, at private educational facilities, college universities, and as homeschool educators! We look forward to working with your family this upcoming year to bring the very best in Performing Arts Homeschool Education.

4th Avenue Arts Homeschool Faculty & Staff
PROGRAM DETAILS:
The 4th Avenue Arts Immersive Arts, 9 week Program is designed for the student who are ready for an in depth arts experience. This program sources curriculum from theatre, dance, design, stagecraft, and culture to bring together a dynamic learning experience.

Each student will develop a homeschool portfolio throughout the session which will meet West Virginia state education requirements and can be turned in as a part of their homeschool review at the end of the school year! (Specific standards will be shared with enrolled families.) Additionally, all students will also receive a digital copy of their final performance/process.
​
Please note that this program is limited to 10 students per group. Learning groups will be divided as follows:
Immersive Arts Young Learners: Grades 2nd - 7th
Immersive Arts Secondary Division: Grades 8th - 12th
Homeschool Program Option 1:
IMMERSIVE ARTS
Course Subjects: Theatre (Greek Scripts/Aesop's Fables, Grades 2nd-7th/Greek Messenger Speeches, Grades 8th-12th), Modern Dance & Choreographic Notation, Costume Design & Construction, Nutrition & Wellness, Performance, Stagecraft, Digital Media
Length of Program: 9 Weeks
Friday/9am-12pm/9.18.20-11.13.20/Digital Media Day: 11.14.20
Immersive Arts Tuition:
$300 per 9 wk. Program + student supply fee
Homeschool Program Option 2:
SEWING & SOCIAL STUDIES
PROGRAM DETAILS:
The 4th Avenue Arts "Sewing & Social Studies" Program is a once a month workshop style program taking place on Wednesday's, 9am - 12:30pm. Each month has a different education lesson and hands on sewing project! Students can sign up for one lesson or become a "Sewing Scholar" and join us each month!

Please note that our design studio has limited space for 6 in person students! There are virtual learning opportunities available with this program, inquire for more details if space fills up or if you are an out of town homeschooler!

Study West African and Caribbean Folklore! Learn about "Anansi the Spider" and make a playful spider plushie.

October 28th:
Learn about Mexican Traditions & Celebrate Dia de los Muertos/the Day of the Dead! Students get to make their own Ofrenda Flags!

November 18th:
Study Native American Culture & Make Moccasins!
​
December 16th:
Learn German Holiday Traditions & Create a Handmade Tannenbaum Tinsel Ornament!

Explore Mythical Ireland & Make Brigid Dolls with Blankets
February 24th:
Learn about Appalachian Culture & Create a Coal Mining Inspired Kerchief!

March 17th:
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Learn Irish Traditions & create your very own "Lucky Book"!

April 28th:
Celebrate Golden Week! Study Japanese Culture & Design/Sew Miniature Kimonos.

May 26th:
Explore Russian Folklore! Make a Babushka Doll with Baba Yaga!

Ages: 3rd Grade & up

Sewing & Social Studies Cost: $60
Includes 1 workshop, supplies & take home portfolio materials.
Get One Workshop FREE:
Become a "Sewing Scholar" and join us each month! This means you will get NINE total education lessons, handmade projects, and portfolio materials! Students who complete each workshop will also be recognized for their achievements at the final workshop/Cost: $480 (Includes all lessons & Materials)
Homeschool Program Option 3:
The LANGUAGE of BALLET
PROGRAM DETAILS:
The 4th Avenue Arts "Language of Ballet" Homeschool Program is a 4 week language and movement learning experience designed for the K-5th grader!
​
The language of ballet is in French, and it all began with King Louis XIV in the 17th century! Students will learn basic foreign language concepts through a traditional ballet class taught in french!
​
Throughout the lessons students will also be introduced to cultural and historical facts which will enhance their learning experience!
​
All classes meet on Friday for the designated month (see below for scheduling) from 1:30 - 2:30pm. Note that there is a 10 student maximum for all in person learning. If you are an out of town homeschooler and would like to join in this program... let us know! We would love to have you!
