JDG Youth Dance Company is a 501C-3 non-profit organization of young dance artists that exists to plant seeds of growth. Founded in 2006, the youth company formed in Huntington, WV to provide a high quality experience within a collaborative process, using the lens of movement. The company's focus is process oriented, engaging both its members and the community in the body, mind, and soul of the movement.

JDG Youth Dance Company Information:

Company Requirements:

1.

Be a committed dance student, between the ages of 8 -18, willing to train, explore, perform, grow themselves as an artist and give back to the community as a part of "Art in the Heart of Huntington".

2.

Attend a casting call at 4th Avenue Arts as an audition process. Acceptance depends on many factors, however this company is OPEN TO ALL, regardless of your home studio. 

3.

Be a leader. Know how to be a role model. Move with dignity, pride, and humbleness.

4.

Respect your craft (dance), honor your tool (the body), and have the ability to change...this is why we move. This is why we are human. 

5.

Do not compare yourself to others. Repeat the phrase: "I will only dance better than I did yesterday."

End of story. Do not compete with anyone but yourself.

6.

Be present. Be kind. Listen to yourself & those around you. Do not fear the act of trying or failing.

7.

Be yourself....your wonderful, brilliant, fun, lovable, goofy, serious, happy, sad, talented, crazy, silly, amazing, scared, insecure, grumpy, sweaty, stinky, passionate, weird, beautiful, growing self!

JDG Youth Dance Company Requirements: 

- Company Rehearsal: Junior or Senior Level

- Weekly Ballet Classes

- Weekly Modern Dance Class

- Elective Classes

- Pointe/Demi/Pre-Pointe (If Age Appropriate)

- PBT Progressive Ballet Technique

Performance/Additional Requirements: 

- Signed Company Contract

- Guest Artist & Educational Workshops

- All Company Performance & Community Events
